The hypothesis of this paper is that Lacan wanted Psychoanalysis to become a science of the subject, by transforming the borromean knot to an algorithm. But he finds a lot of problems in his way, that until now. In the borromean knot, the three is different than the Other, and this is the Real thta introduces sex and prevents the Psychoanalysis of becoming a science. Simbólico, imaginario y real son los tres registros que ordenan la enseñanza de Lacan. Lo simbólico en posición dominante introduce inicialmente la terceridad. A medida que esta enseñanza avanza Lacan se ve conducido a elaborar la estructura mediante la topología. El ternario se transforma en RSI y es tratado con el nudo borromeano de tres consistencias. La hipótesis de este trabajo es que Lacan se dirigía a hacer del psicoanálisis una ciencia del sujeto elevando el nudo borromeo de tres a la condición de algoritmo. Pero encontró muchos obstáculos en este camino, obstáculos que aún hoy subsisten. El tres del nudo borromeo diferenciado de la terceridad del gran Otro es el real que introduce el sexo e impide hacer del psicoanálisis una ciencia.
