The notional alternatives available today suggest that they are still trapped in obsolete, anachronistic and reductive categories that would require a thorough revision of their usefulness and plausibility by means of complex approaches. Secondly, a typification of what anocracy is (and could be) as a form of government based on a theoretical-empirical-historical synthesis based on the paradigmatic and demonstrative case of Colombia (1948-2022) is presented. A third section aims to account for one of the special mechanisms, although not exclusive of the anocratic condition: the states of exception pre- and post-the (new) Political Constitution issued in 1991, since this legal figure turns out to be both a way and a guide within the anocratic evolution for the Colombian case.
