In 1965 he published El che amor, his third book, after the fall of the guerrilla in Salta in 1964, when an event hat powerfully affects Szpunberg's poetry takes place: the death of his friend Marcos. Although an epic image of the armed struggle is elaborated in this book, a careful reading will be able to trace doubtful zones and openly critical passages of the guerrilla and the sacrifice to the death demanded by the revolution. On the other hand, the poet will return, thanks to an affective rewriting, on El che amor in 2005 with the first publication of Traslados, in the midst of the revisions of the sixties and seventies left militancy.
