| Sumario: | This article proposes an analysis of the spatial construction of the diocese of Buenos Aires through the episcopal visitation of Bishop Benito Lué y Riega carried out between 1803 and 1805. A brief characterization of the diocesan government is proposed. Then, taking the visit as a episcopal practice of spatiality, four processes are deployed to identify some of the effects of the action of the bishop’s jurisdictional power over the territory and its relationship with other social actors in the diocesan space. |
