To achieve this, we will begin by conducting a thorough survey of the different definitions formulated within the Argentine historiographical field in order to discern the guidelines of the discussion. Subsequently, we will incorporate some of the most vital contributions from Cultural Studies to rethink the characterization of libertarian culture. Based on this examination, we propose to define this historical experience as a popular, emergent, and counter-hegemonic culture. En este artículo nos proponemos reactivar la discusión sobre la conceptualización de la cultura libertaria en Argentina entre finales del siglo XIX y las primeras décadas del siglo XX. Para ello, iniciaremos el trabajo elaborando un detenido relevamiento de las distintas definiciones que se formularon sobre ella dentro del campo historiográfico argentino para discernir las directrices claves de la discusión. Posteriormente, incorporaremos algunos de los más vitales aportes de los Estudios Culturales para repensar la caracterización de la cultura libertaria. En base a ese examen, se propondrá definir a esa experiencia histórica como una cultura popular, emergente y contrahegemónica. Neste artigo, propomos reativar a discussão sobre a conceituação da cultura libertária na Argentina entre o final do século XIX e as primeiras décadas do século XX. Para isso, iniciaremos nosso trabalho com um levantamento detalhado das diferentes definições que foram formuladas no campo historiográfico argentino, a fim de discernir as principais diretrizes da discussão. Em seguida, incorporaremos algumas das contribuições mais importantes dos Estudos Culturais para repensar a caracterização da cultura libertária. Com base nesse exame, propomos definir essa experiência histórica como uma cultura popular, emergente e contra-hegemônica.
