| Sumario: | This article presents a study on two cases of articulation between artistic practices and politics that took place within the politicization cycle of the long sixties in Uruguay, around 1971. In that context, the constitution of the Agrupación de Trabajo Cultural within the Movimiento de Independientes 26 de Marzo and the Frente Amplio political party is analyzed. It is taken into consideration, on the one hand, the politicization itinerary of the Uruguayan visual artist Teresa Vila and the development of a series of artworks called “Las veredas de la Patria Chica”. On the other hand, the film "La bandera que levantamos" is examined, made by Uruguayan filmmakers Mario Jacob and Eduardo Terra. The study of both productions reveals some of the main strategies for combining art and politics within the artistic and intellectual field of the time in Uruguay. |
