After that, I expose some key elements through which it becomes possible to study popular music and I propose a definition of popular music, In this ocassion, this definition is link to technological and media elements, which I think significativily contribute to the ways music make and construct sense. El presente texto aborda ciertos aspectos del estudio cultural de la música popular contemporánea. Para ello, se inicia con una serie de reflexiones y caracterizaciones que, apoyadas en un conjunto de investigadores de diversas disciplinas, procuran plantear las formas en que música, cultura y sociedad se entrelazan y los elementos a tener en cuenta en un abordaje complejo de los fenómenos musicales. A continuación, procuro declinar una definición de música popular subrayando, en esta ocasión, las cuestiones tecnológicas y mediáticas que, a mi entender, contribuyen significativamente a sus formas de creación de sentidos.
