In this essay, she explains the motives of the French writer, who, fascinated by the initiation rituals of the Mexican Indigenous world, lived with the Tarahumara and even experimented with peyote. He tells us about the important meeting he had with the Mexican painter María Izquierdo, a unique entity "purely Tarascan" and filled with magical, primitive thinking, with whose work he finds unanticipated connections.
