In this article I propose to analyze the conflicts and disputes that happen in the diverse representations of Canudos War that are present in the sites of memory like the State Park of Canudos, administered by the Bahia State University (UNEB); the Canudos Popular Mamorial Institute linked to the catholic church, or the Memorial of Antonio Conselheiro in Quixeramobim (CE); in the measure in which the narratives in monuments demonstrate that the constructions of the identities are instruments of power, especially in its relation with national history and national memory. |
