Estudio de la estrella simbiótica CD -43°14304 en un amplio rango espectral (3700-10100 Å)

The symbiotic star CD -43°14304 (Hen 1924) was observed with Reticon and CCD detectors (in 1990 and 1992, respectively) using a Cassegrain spectrograph attached to the 2.15m telescope at CASLEO, San Juan, Argentina. An important number of images were obtained covering the spectral range 3700-10100 Å...

description The symbiotic star CD -43°14304 (Hen 1924) was observed with Reticon and CCD detectors (in 1990 and 1992, respectively) using a Cassegrain spectrograph attached to the 2.15m telescope at CASLEO, San Juan, Argentina. An important number of images were obtained covering the spectral range 3700-10100 Å. Previous spectroscopic data of this object are very scarce. Our images show a well defined continuum and the presence of TiO absorption bands corresponding to a K5 III cool component. Some absorption lines (e.g. Ca II H and K, Na I and many of Mg I, Fe I, etc.) appear weakened for this spectral type and no variations were detected over two years of observations. We have detected emission lines of HI (Balmer and Paschen series), He I, He II, O I 8446 Å, and emission bands at 6830 and 7088 Å. No forbidden emission lines were observed. Emission line intensities were increased in 1992 respect to 1990. There are no appreciable differences in radial velocities seen over the time elapsed between the observing runs.
