The North Patagonia politically formed a unique space. In Río Negro, Governor Mario Franco tried to maintain governance and reconfigure the historical memory by inserting the justicialism as the dominant force, creating a pantheon in which the heroes and dates of Peronism were included. En Argentina el acceso al poder del Tercer Peronismo Histórico (1973-1976) significó el final de la proscripción del partido y del líder Juan Domingo Perón. Esta etapa constituyó una verdadera “primavera peronista” que tradujo una movilización social ascendente con protagonismo de la juventud, las organizaciones armadas y el enfrentamiento violento entre fracciones partidarias del justicialismo. La Norpatagonia conformó políticamente un espacio singular. En Río Negro, el gobernador Mario Franco procuró mantener la gobernabilidad y reconfigurar la memoria histórica insertando al justicialismo como fuerza predominante, generando un Panteón en el que se incluyeron los héroes y fechas del peronismo.
