description Scholarization rate in secondary school in Argentina is quite high and though it has risen considerably during the last decade, lots of those who reach this level, are not able to conclude it. This study intends to shed light on the determinants of high school dropout in order to identify the students that are at risk and provide useful information to design safety net policies to prevent dropout. It uses micro data from the Permanent Household Survey (EPH) since 2003 corresponding to secondary school students aged 13-19. We identify as "students at risk" those who in a survey declare attending secondary school and in the following state that they no longer attend-in spite of not having graduated-. Our results were obtained from the logistic regression model and show, on the one hand, that men are at greater risk of dropping out of school; in the same way, those who work; those who are looking for work or those who belong to single-parent families. And on the other hand, students with higher per capita income are less likely to leave.
