From that premise, it's proposed - on the one hand - to analyze the presence of teaching reading and writing through the academic journey offered by the career of History, at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters UBA. On the other hand, to share not only the formation experience of these professors within the framework of the initial formation of History teachers, but also share the specificities of the reading and writing when teaching History, as well as the role of the professor to teach how to read and/or to write historic texts. Answering this challenge implies to consider the reading and writing of different languages; the reading as a complex and cultural activity. Este artículo parte de considerar que los profesores de Historia son también profesores de lectura y escritura. Desde esta premisa, se propone por un lado, analizar la presencia de la enseñanza de la lectura y escritura en el recorrido académicoofrecido por la carrera de Historia de la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras de la UBA. Por otro, compartir tanto la experiencia deformación de profesores de lectura y escritura en el marco de la formación inicial de profesores de Historia como las especificidades de la lectura y la escritura en la enseñanza de la Historia y el rol que cumple el profesor para enseñar a leer y/o aescribir textos históricos. Responder a este reto implica considerar la lectura y la escritura de diversos lenguajes; la lecturacomo una actividad cultural y compleja y las potencialidades de la escritura como herramienta para la transformación del conocimiento.
