Sumario:This article understands that, as starting point, History professors are also reading and writing professors. From that premise, it's proposed - on the one hand - to analyze the presence of teaching reading and writing through the academic journey offered by the career of History, at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters UBA. On the other hand, to share not only the formation experience of these professors within the framework of the initial formation of History teachers, but also share the specificities of the reading and writing when teaching History, as well as the role of the professor to teach how to read and/or to write historic texts. Answering this challenge implies to consider the reading and writing of different languages; the reading as a complex and cultural activity.
