What do we mean when we talk about Comparative Literature? On the other hand, this article aims to contribute to the construction of a methodological approach to Comparative Literature that focuses on Latin American contrastive comparatism as an interdisciplinary field, on the reading of the new intercultural set that illuminates other analytical perspectives and on the concept of estrangement that challenges the gaze. Este trabajo tiene dos objetivos: por un lado, busca realizar un recorrido histórico crítico —necesario— de la literatura comparada como disciplina e interdisciplina, para comprender los diversos significados en diferentes contextos y tiempos. ¿De qué hablamos cuando hablamos de literatura comparada? Por otro lado, este artículo tiene como propósito contribuir a la construcción de un abordaje metodológico de la literatura comparada que se focalice en el comparatismo contrastivo latinoamericano como campo interdisciplinario, en la lectura del nuevo conjunto intercultural que ilumina otras perspectivas analíticas y en el concepto de extrañamiento que desafía la mirada.
