We conclude that the themes generated by these intellectuals (a modernist and a regionalist), especially the approach to culture and people, helped Paulo Freire (in the 1950s and 1960s) to form a certain idea of people and culture among those he intended to teach with his method. ¿Qué queremos decir, exactamente, cuando hablamos de la “influencia” que recibió o ejerció un autor? En este ensayo, sostenemos que intelectuales de los años 20/30, como Mário de Andrade y Gilberto Freyre -rara vez o nunca mencionados por Paulo Freire en sus obras-, tuvieron un impacto decisivo en la definición del campo temático y de los objetos de investigación desarrollados por el educador en la década de 1950. Concluimos que los temas generados por estos intelectuales (uno modernista y otro regionalista), especialmente el acercamiento a la cultura y las personas, ayudaron a Paulo Freire a componer los elementos de sus ideas pedagógicas, sus métodos y asignaturas. O que queremos dizer, exatamente, quando falamos da “influência” que um autor sofreu ou exerceu? Neste ensaio, sustentamos que intelectuais dos anos 1920-1930, pouco ou nenhuma vez citado por Paulo Freire em suas obras, como Mário de Andrade e Gilberto Freyre, tiveram incidência decisiva na definição de um campo temático e de objetos de investigação retomados pelo educador nos anos 1950. Concluímos que as temáticas gestadas por estes intelectuais (um modernista e outro regionalista), em especial a abordagem sobre cultura e povo, ajudaram Paulo Freire a compor os elementos de seu ideário pedagógico, seus métodos e seus sujeitos. application/pdf text/html https://revistascientificas.filo.uba.ar/index.php/iice/article/view/10207 10.34096/iice.n48.10207 spa Subsecretaría de publicaciones.
