The objective of this work has been to apply this Guide to the context of MPAs in the province of Buenos Aires to obtain an evaluation and classification of them. The results obtained indicate difficulties in achieving the effective implementation of the studied reserves and a low level of protection that prevents the achievement of conservation objectives and obtaining the expected benefits. A nivel mundial existen todavía muchos desacuerdos respecto a cómo contabilizar las áreas marinas protegidas (AMP) y qué significa el concepto de protección del espacio marino. En tiempos recientes un grupo de expertos elaboró un instrumento denominado la Guía AMP con el objetivo de llevar claridad en estos aspectos. El objetivo de este trabajo ha sido aplicar esta Guía al contexto de las AMP de la provincia de Buenos Aires para obtener una evaluación y clasificación de las mismas.
