In recent years, due to the massification of the demands of cisgender women’s groups and LGBTTIQ+ groups, the debate on the importance of implementing sexuality education has been rekindled. Educational institutions are constituted as places of socialisation that are influenced by the social agenda and represent the sphere in which these debates resonate. Thus, the demand arises for pedagogical proposals that dialogue with the debates of the contemporary social context. This article reflects on the links that have been established between the teaching of Geography and sex education, especially comprehensive sexual education. To this purpose, a general approach to the subject is made. To begin with, in order to contextualise the Latin American situation, the status of the different legislations that enable the explicit incorporation of sexuality education into school curricula is presented. Then, the analysis focuses on the main contributions and political positions of Argentina’s Comprehensive Sexual Education Law, a pioneer in the continent. This is followed by an approach to Latin American studies on the teaching of Geography in dialogue with sexuality education. This is done through the bibliographical recovery of published scientific works, as a state of the question. Finally, the current challenges presented by the dialogue between the teaching of Geography and Comprehensive Sexual Education are presented. |

I28-R145-11569_oai2025-11-17 Moreno, Magdalena 2023-06-30 In recent years, due to the massification of the demands of cisgender women’s groups and LGBTTIQ+ groups, the debate on the importance of implementing sexuality education has been rekindled.
