I28-R145-13369_oai2025-11-17 Bunster, Cora 2000-12-01 The current paper is a reflection on variable analysis selected during a research on a topic of Andean history: the use of emblems of power and prestige by andean authoriries during the XVI and XVII centuries in the Viceroyalty of Peru. We present some considerations about the thematic axis that allow us to make a critical analysis of the sources with which we worked. The above mention variables are related to both Anthropology and History, showing the richness interdisciplinary approaches brings to our work. An example of that, is the analysis of rituals and symbols of power and prestige in the indigenous society, visualized from an historical perspective of transformation and change inside the ambivalent colonial society. El presente trabajo es una reflexión sobre las variables de análisis seleccionadas en el curso de una investigación sobre un tema de historia andina; el de la utilización de emblemas de poder y prestigio por parte de las autoridades andinas en el siglo XVI y XVII en el Virreinato del Perú. Presentamos acá algunas consideraciones acerca de los ejes temáticos que nos permitieron realizar un análisis crítico de las fuentes con las que trabajamos. Estas fuentes se relacionantanto con la antropología como con la historia y muestran la riqueza que un enfoque interdisciplinario brinda a nuestro trabajo. Un ejemplo de ello, es el análisis de los rituales y símbolos de poder y prestigioen la sociedad indígena visualizado desde una perspectiva histórica del cambio y la transformación dentro de una ambivalente sociedad colonial.
