In a context of complete dehumanization, marked by various oppressions and ways of being and feeling increasingly distant from human warmth, we highlight Said’s work as a protection against crushing totalizations. Here we conduct an analysis of the work Orientalism in order to pedagogize its content, transmit knowledge with commitment and rigor and expand ways of understanding the teaching task as a creation of conceptuality for others. En un mundo donde escasean los marcos de inteligibilidad emancipadores, Edward Said brinda a través de sus obras, modos de pensar con la potencialidad de liberar pueblos, subjetividades y patrones de razonamiento. En un contexto de completa deshumanización, signado por opresiones varias y modos de ser y sentir cada vez más alejados de la calidez humana, resaltamos la obra saidiana como resguardo frente a las totalizaciones aplastantes.
