| Sumario: | The assessment is conceived as a management toll as it represents a process associated with the improvement and integrates into planning objectives and institutional strategies.The perspective calls for actors in the institutions to perform a critical reflection on its objectives, the capabilities it has to carry them out, the performance and results. The process culminates with the formulation of lines and actions of strengthening that converge towards the best scope of the objectives of the institution.In our country there is currently a program that is taking forward the implementation of the evaluation as a tool of management and of continuous improvement. It is the “Assessment Program of Institucional of Organizations of Science and Technology” –PEI, who depends on the Ministry of Science, Technology and productive Innovation – MINCYT. In this program, the institutional evaluation is understood as a process that is composed of three stages, the self – assessment (the look of the own institution), the external evaluation (external e independent took) and the plan of improvement (the institutional strengthening). For the PEI, the more relevant impact of the evaluation institutional is not the quality in itself but the knowledge that emerges of analyzing the institution and promoting its continuous improvement.The present article describes the process of evaluation from the gaze of the PEI. |
