description The Intercultural Bilingual Education of the province of Chaco (Argentina) represents a key experience of this educational modality within our country, whose trajectory –predating the enactment of relevant legislation– can be understood through the various ways in which Indigenous communities themselves have led this process. The role of the leaders of the Qom, Wichí, and Moqoit peoples has evolved from organizing demands and advocating before the provincial government to their inclusion in educational management at ministerial levels. This article presents the collaborative work experience of a research team composed of linguists, anthropologists, and a geographer, working alongside teachers and representatives of Chaco’s Intercultural Bilingual Education (EBI). The aim is to revisit a series of collaborative efforts and share insights arising from the integration of technical assistance and research from academic-institutional spaces with actors who have taken on management responsibilities.

La Educación Bilingüe Intercultural de la provincia del Chaco (Argentina) constituye una experiencia clave de esta modalidad educativa dentro de nuestro país, cuyo derrotero –que precede la sanción de la legislación respectiva– puede pensarse a partir de las distintas formas en las que las propias comunidades indígenas han protagonizado este proceso. El rol de los líderes de los pueblos qom, wichí y moqoit se ha transformado desde la organización de las reivindicaciones en la demanda al estado provincial hasta su incorporación a la gestión educativa en instancias ministeriales. En este artículo se presenta la experiencia de trabajo conjunto de un equipo de investigación formado por lingüistas, antropólogas y un geógrafo con docentes y referentes de la EBI chaqueña. El objetivo es recuperar una serie de instancias de trabajo conjunto y compartir las reflexiones que surgen de la articulación de la asistencia técnica y la investigación desde espacios académico-institucionales con actores que han asumido responsabilidades de gestión. A Educação Bilíngue Intercultural da província de Chaco (Argentina) constitui uma experiência fundamental dessa modalidade educativa em nosso país, cuja trajetória –anterior à sanção da legislação correspondente– pode ser pensada a partir das diferentes formas pelas quais as próprias comunidades indígenas protagonizaram esse processo. O papel dos líderes dos povos Qom, Wichí e Moqoit transformou-se, passando da organização de reivindicações e demandas ao governo provincial até sua incorporação na gestão educativa em instâncias ministeriais. Neste artigo, apresenta-se a experiência de trabalho conjunto de uma equipe de pesquisa composta por linguistas, antropólogas e um geógrafo, em colaboração com professores e referentes da EBI chaqueña.
