Sumario:This article describes the purpose and functions of the Agricultural Export Board, an agency created in Chile in 1930 in response to the Great Depression. It proposes a critical evaluation of the results of its management based on the examination of different statistical indicators. The analyzed background shows that there is neither an increase in the Chilean wheat export capacity nor a risk of local stock-outs during the existence of the board. All of the above while the agricultural productive capacity does not show significant improvements. Ark: http://id.caicyt.gov.ar/ark:/s25458299/m1p74corl
