In general terms we could say that the above university plans to ‘73-74 responded to the ideals of economic developmentalism. Instead, the process established with the return to democracy, under the mobilization of students and teachers had as its background the desire for a transformation of the structures of economic dependence which must be accompanied by an educational project based on the theoretical currents release. So the project was implemented in University from 1973 Cuyo gave continuity to the developmental guidelines but, in turn, inserted the educational community in the broader context of the fight against dependency. His reformers found a gap between the models and standards for universities left by the de facto government, which permitted the development of an original archetype: departmentalization within schools, with teaching units that replaced the system of teaching and that bound harmonically teaching, research and services. His counterpart was the authoritarian onslaught since 1975, where he began to dismount that alternative. Las políticas académica en la Universidad Nacional de Cuyo, entre 1966 y 1976, es el objeto de este trabajo. En términos generales, podríamos decir que las políticas académicas anteriores al ‘73–74 respondían a los ideales del desarrollismo económico. En cambio, el proceso instaurado con el retorno a la democracia, bajo la movilización de estudiantes y docentes, tuvo como trasfondo el deseo de una transformación de las estructuras de dependencia económica que debía ser acompañado por un proyecto educativo fundamentado en las corrientes teóricas de la liberación. De modo que el proyecto de Universidad que se implementó en Cuyo a partir de 1973 daba cierta continuidad a los lineamientos desarrollistas pero, a su vez, insertaba a la comunidad educativa en el marco más general de la lucha contra la dependencia. Sus reformadores encontraron un intersticio, entre los modelos y las normas para las universidades dejadas por el gobierno de facto, que les permitió la elaboración de un arquetipo original: la departamentalización al interior de las facultades, con unidades pedagógicas que reemplazaron al sistema de cátedra y que ligaban armónicamente docencia, investigación y servicios.
