Sumario:The academic policies at the National University of Cuyo, between 1966 to 1976, are the subject of this paper. In general terms we could say that the above university plans to ‘73-74 responded to the ideals of economic developmentalism. Instead, the process established with the return to democracy, under the mobilization of students and teachers had as its background the desire for a transformation of the structures of economic dependence which must be accompanied by an educational project based on the theoretical currents release. So the project was implemented in University from 1973 Cuyo gave continuity to the developmental guidelines but, in turn, inserted the educational community in the broader context of the fight against dependency. His reformers found a gap between the models and standards for universities left by the de facto government, which permitted the development of an original archetype: departmentalization within schools, with teaching units that replaced the system of teaching and that bound harmonically teaching, research and services. His counterpart was the authoritarian onslaught since 1975, where he began to dismount that alternative.
