Two congenial proposals are presented to evaluate their fruitfulness. The implications of Thomas Kuhn´s thesis on the subject of scientific discovery are explored and his epistemology is articulated with proposals stated by theorists coming from sociocultural studies of science such as Augustine Brannigan in The social basis of sienctific discovery El trabajo se propone enfocar el descubrimiento científico desde la perspectiva de la acción de las comunidades científicas y no desde la acción individual. Para ello, se presentan primero dos posiciones que han intentado defender una perspectiva similar, para discutirlas luego en términos de su fecundidad y adecuación descriptiva.
