El artículo analiza el tratamiento que hace Adorno del jazz y la música popular, basado en distinción entre “música seria” y “música ligera” (o música consumible), con repercusiones en la estructura misma de obras y canciones. El estudio también incluye una apreciación crítica de lo que el filósofo y sociólogo alemán llamó “regresión de la audición” en la música popular. La discusión se extiende sobre tal atribución al blues, jazz y rock en un enfoque que valora los géneros musicales como relevantes y significativos en la experiencia artística contemporánea. O artigo discute o tratamento de Adorno conferido ao jazz e à música popular, a partir de sua formulação que distingue a “música séria” da “música ligeira” (ou consumível), com repercussões sobre a própria estrutura das obras e canções. Esse estudo implica também na apreciação crítica do que o filósofo e sociólogo alemão chamou de “regressão da audição” na música popular.
