Currently, between all the topics of concern to humanity as a whole, there are two issues that are drawing attention: pollution and information and communication. At first glance, you might think that these two issues have nothing in common, however, the cost of technological development can become too high, since information technology is one of the industries that produces more pollution. In this regard, the Laudato Si Encyclical warns about environmental deterioration, proposes a new universal solidarity and encouraged to develop environmentally friendly technologies at a global level. This work, following the methodology of the Encyclical, will detail the incidence of informatics in the different areas and will describe in general terms, each of the methods and eco-friendly computer products. Buenos Aires, Argentina Argentina Porcelli, Adriana Margarita Martínez, Adriana Norma 2016 En el presente trabajo pretendemos reflejar la problemática, ya advertida por la comunidad científica y por el papa Francisco, que generan los grandes avances tecnológicos de las últimas décadas. En la actualidad, entre todos los temas que preocupan a la humanidad en su conjunto hay dos cuestiones que están llamando la atención: la contaminación y la información y comunicación. A primera vista, podría pensarse que estos dos temas no tienen nada en común, sin embargo, el costo del desarrollo tecnológico puede llegar a ser demasiado alto, ya que la informática es una de las industrias que más contaminación produce. En este sentido, la Encíclica Laudato Si alerta sobre el deterioro ambiental, propone una nueva solidaridad universal y exhorta a desarrollar tecnologías ambientalmente amigables a nivel global. El presente artículo, siguiendo la metodología de la Encíclica, detallará la incidencia de la informática en los diferentes ámbitos y describirá, en términos generales, cada uno de los métodos y productos informáticos ecológicos.
