The objective of this study was to noninvasively estimate the left ventricular end diastolic pressure (LVEDP) in healthy dogs, using a modification of the original technique and formula developed by Palomo et al. The values obtained were compared with those obtained using the Doppler technique to calculate the index between E transmitral and tissue E? waves. The modified and used formula was: PDFVI = 21.6 * (q-C / Tf-E) + 1.1. Two hundred and thirty healthy dogs (108 females and 122 males) were studied; the average weight was 14.5 kg, and the average age was 8 years. Following the recommendations validated by the American Society of Echocardiography, a short-axis echotomogram was performed in the right parasternal window at the level of the mitral valve in the guided M-mode format, and simultaneously recording an electrocardiogram. To make the comparison with the investigated method, a pulsed Doppler study of transmitral flow and tissue Doppler imaging was carried out. The proposed procedure was simple, useful, reliable, and reproducible in the daily clinic. Similarity tests were performed between both methods, a linear regression model was developed between the new proposed method (Palomo?s modified formula) and the reference method (Em/Et). In addition, the correspondence techniques (TSI), Pearson?s correlation coefficient, the t test, the r test, and the study of the confidence intervals were applied, not finding significant statistical differences. The results expressed as arithmetic mean ± standard error were for the Em/Et ratio of 9.43 ± 0.037 with a coefficient of variation (CV) of 5.88 % and confidence interval of (CI) 95 % Li 9.36 and Ls 9.51. For the proposed modified formula of 10.027 ± 0.34 with CV 4.83 % and 95 % CI Li 9.97 and Ls 10.10. |

Prados, A.P. 2021 El objetivo de este estudio fue estimar en forma no invasiva la presión diastólica final del ventrículo izquierdo (PDFVI) en perros sanos, utilizando la modificación de la técnica original y de la fórmula desarrollada por Palomo y colaboradores. Los valores obtenidos se compararon con los logrados utilizando la técnica Doppler para calcular el índice entre las ondas E transmitral y E? tisular. La fórmula modificada y utilizada fue: PDFVI = 21,6 * (q-C / Tf-E) + 1,1. Se estudiaron doscientos treinta perros sanos (108 hembras y 122 machos); el peso promedio fue de 14,5 kg y la edad promedio de 8 años. Siguiendo las recomendaciones validadas por la Sociedad Americana de Ecocardiografía se realizó un ecotomograma en eje corto en la ventana paraesternal derecha a nivel de la válvula mitral en el formato modo-M guiado registrándose simultáneamente un registro electrocardiográfico. Con el objeto de realizar la comparación con el método investigado, se realizó un estudio Doppler pulsado del flujo transmitral y un Doppler tisular. El procedimiento propuesto resultó sencillo, útil,\nconfiable, y reproducible en la clínica diaria. Se realizaron pruebas de similitud entre ambos métodos, se elaboró un modelo de regresión lineal entre el nuevo método propuesto (fórmula modificada de Palomo) y el método de referencia (Em/Et). Además, se aplicaron las técnicas de correspondencia (TSI), el coeficiente de correlación de Pearson, la prueba t, la prueba r y el estudio de los intervalos de confianza, no encontrándose diferencias estadísticas significativas. Los resultados expresados como media aritmética ± error estándar fueron: para la relación Em/Et de 9,43±0,037 con un coeficiente de variación (CV) de 5,88 % e intervalo de confianza de (IC) 95 % Li 9,36 y Ls 9,51.
