Our goal is to identify the activities carried out by hunter-gatherer populations, in order to assess their use of the space in the site. Overall, we recognized the main use of local lithic raw materials in the production of artifacts, the provisioning of the site with dark fine-grained rocks of the Potrok Aike type, and abundant evidence of the initial stages of lithic knapping activities along with scant finished tools, and the exploitation of Lama guanicoe. The results are complemented by those of local rock art studies, suggesting a brief and planned use of the site, at least during the last period of human occupation at Pali Aike. En este trabajo se presenta la información obtenida a partir del estudio de los materiales líticos y faunísticos de superficie recuperados en el sitio Bajo El Cóndor 1, localizado en el interfluvio Gallegos-Chico (campo volcánico Pali Aike, provincia de Santa Cruz, Argentina). El objetivo es conocer las actividades realizadas por las poblaciones de cazadores-recolectores para comprender el uso que hicieron de ese espacio. En líneas generales, se reconoce una amplia utilización de materias primas líticas locales en la elaboración de artefactos, un equipamiento del lugar con rocas de grano fino oscuras tipo Potrok Aike, una profusión de actividades iniciales de talla junto con una escasez de instrumentos y la explotación de Lama guanicoe. Los resultados se complementan con aquellos alcanzados mediante el estudio de las manifestaciones rupestres en el sitio y sugieren el uso posiblemente breve y planificado de Bajo El Cóndor 1, al menos durante momentos tardíos de la ocupación humana en Pali Aike.
