| Sumario: | The aim of this paper is to study the trajectory of former military expelled from Brazilian Army in their exile in Uruguay and Argentina. Heirs of the rebel generation of 1922, and followers of Luiz Carlos Prestes, also former military who became communist leader, these young soldiers were impregnated by the tense political and social atmosphere of the country. After the failed Communist Putsch of 1935, their links to the left led them to prison and exile, especially in Uruguay and Argentina, countries that historically served as places of refuge and political articulation space for opponents of neighboring countries. Meanwhile, in the 1930s, such political activities were curtailed, especially those from leftist groups, as repressive connections between regional security forces to contain the “Bolshevism” already articulated. In methodological terms, various types of documentary sources (police records, newspapers) were used, which were intertwined with oral testimonies left by the last surviving protagonists, allowing the construction of a denser historical narrative. |
