It is true that it absorbed part of de duties of the old Departmento, especially in cadastral matters, throughout the 20th century since it was created in 1913 the office was adapting itself to the cartography policy established by the Instituto Geográfico Nacional, and others institutions in the field at international level, such as the Instituto Panamericano de Geografía e Historia. This adaptation implied the use of projections and the homogenization of grids or index maps, which were guiding the mapping in the Buenos Aires territory. Here, we intend to reconstruct the cartographic project of the Dirección General de Tierras y Geodesia, through the reconstruction of its grid, survey’s scales and prioritized areas to study. Likewise, we analyzed the links that the Office established with another institutions. We argue that these networks were essential for the construction of its position in the scientific field, which was necessary to make it the official control body for provincial cartography in 1981. La Dirección General de Tierras y Geodesia de la provincia de Buenos Aires suele pensarse como heredera de las funciones del Departamento Topográfico de 1826. Si bien es cierto que desde su creación en 1913 absorbió parte de las funciones catastrales del viejo Departamento, a medida que avanzaba el siglo XX la Dirección fue adaptándose a las políticas cartográficas que diseñaba el Instituto Geográfico Militar y otras instituciones a escala internacional como el Instituto Panamericano de Geografía e Historia. Esta adaptación implicó el uso de proyecciones y la homogenización de grillas o mapas índex que iban pautando el mapeo en el territorito bonaerense. Este trabajo se propone reconstruir el plan cartográfico de la Dirección General de Tierras y Geodesia de la provincia de Buenos Aires, reconstruir sus grillas, escalas de levantamientos y las áreas priorizadas para relevar. Asimismo se establecen los vínculos que la Dirección mantuvo con otras instituciones cartográficas, redes institucionales que fueron fundamentales para posicionarse en el campo científico que le valió para convertirse en la fiscalizadora de la cartografía provincial en 1981.
