A photograph, two newspaper articles, and three letters allow us to verify and clarify the account Coña gave Ernesto Moesbach about the meeting they had with Julio A. Roca, president of Argentina. Comparing the photograph of Painemilla with one taken to Sayhueque allows for a comparative study of the meetings both men had with Roca that year and the different reception each demand would have received, depending on whether they were formulated in Mapudungun or Spanish. Letters written and signed by Painemilla and Coña confirm the latter’s formal role as secretary and offer an insight into some of the arguments used in the demand for the redemption of indigenous women captured by the army.       Presentamos fuentes que documentan el paso de los mapuches Pascual Painemilla, Pascual Coña y Miguel Ñancuche por Buenos Aires entre julio y agosto de 1885. Una fotografía, dos notas periodísticas y tres cartas nos permiten verificar y agregar precisiones al relato que Coña refirió a Ernesto Moesbach sobre la entrevista que mantuvieron con el presidente de Argentina -Julio A. Roca-. El cotejo de la fotografía de Painemilla con una que se tomó a Sayhueque posibilita un estudio comparado de las reuniones que ambos tuvieron con Roca en ese año y de la diferente recepción que habrían tenido una y otra demanda según se formularan en mapudungun o español. Cartas escritas y firmadas por Painemilla y por Coña permiten confirmar el rol formal de este último como secretario y ofrecen la posibilidad de conocer algunos argumentos blandidos en el reclamo por la redención de mujeres indígenas capturadas por el ejército. Apresentamos fontes que documentam a passagem dos mapuches Pascual Painemilla, Pascual Coña e Miguel Nancuche por Buenos Aires entre julho e agosto de 1885. Uma fotografia, duas notas jornalísticas e três cartas nos permitem verificar e acrescentar precisões ao relato que Coña referiu a Ernesto Moesbach sobre a entrevista que mantiveram com o presidente da Argentina -Julio A. Roca-. A comparação da fotografia de Painemilla com uma que se tirou a Sayhueque possibilita um estudo comparado das reuniões que ambos tiveram com Roca nesse ano e da diferente recepção que teriam tido uma e outra demanda segundo se formulassem em mapudungun ou espanhol. Cartas escritas e assinadas por Painemilla e por Coña permitem confirmar o papel formal deste último como secretário e oferecem a possibilidade de conhecer alguns argumentos brandidos no reclamo pela redenção de mulheres indígenas capturadas pelo exército.
