This paper proposes to trace and analyze various images of motherhood in a series of poems by Ana María Ponce, María del Carmen Sosa and Luisa Marta Cónica, written in Argentina in the 70s. Crossed by violence and revolution –two key terms of the period– these writings reveal multiple meanings around the experience of motherhood, in contexts of state repression and also intense political militancy. Motherhoods in plural: motherhoods in confinement, collective motherhoods, motherhoods as sacrifice and dedication, motherhoods as desire and act of love.
