The objective is to examine the connections that teachers establish between "Physical Education" and "health," under the premise that any inquiry into this research object would be reductionist without an analysis of the role played by the sex-gender system. To this end, a unit of analysis was implemented, composed of Physical Education teachers at the secondary level of a privately managed educational institution in the City of Buenos Aires. The findings reveal that sport emerges as the most efficient means for developing the body and promoting healthy practices. However, both the sports practices themselves and the physical qualities derived from them, as well as teachers’ expectations, representations, and assessment methods, vary according to the students' genitality. The boundaries of "healthy bodies" lie at the edge of the social construction of the "sexed body," shaped by the cultural mandate of what a body "can" or "must" be or do. El artículo pretende indagar en torno a la interrelación entre los “cuerpos saludables” y la construcción social del cuerpo sexuado que se materializa en las clases de Educación Física a partir de un análisis de observaciones y entrevistas. Se propone analizar cuáles son los vínculos que establecen lxs docentes entre “Educación Física” y “salud”, con la premisa de que toda indagación por este objeto de investigación sería reduccionista sin un análisis en torno al lugar que ocupa el sistema sexo-género. Para ello se implementó una unidad de análisis constituida por lxs docentes del área curricular de Educación Física del nivel medio de una institución educativa de gestión privada de la CABA. Como resultado, el deporte apareció como el medio más eficiente para desarrollar el organismo y estimular prácticas saludables; sin embargo, tanto las prácticas deportivas en sí mismas, como así también las cualidades físicas que se derivan de ellas, las expectativas, las representaciones docentes y las modalidades de evaluación varían en función de la genitalidad del estudiantado. El límite de los “cuerpos saludables” está en la frontera de la construcción social del “cuerpo sexuado” en torno a la sentencia cultural de lo que “puede”, o debe, un cuerpo.
