We propose to analyze the constructions of memory surrounding the presence of the historic mill and its relationship with local processes oriented towards tourism. To this end, we will draw on oral records of meetings with residents and interviews conducted in the context of the work with this structure. Although these initiatives come from actors linked to tourism, they differ from those processes related to touristification in nearby places. In this context, collective memories reflect its importance in the community, and its heritage activation geared towards tourism is a constituent element of its meanings, among others that have to do with its conservation and restoration. |

El turismo en los Valles Calchaquíes salteños se ha incrementado en los últimos años, concentrado en localidades como Cachi y Cafayate. En este marco, desde 2015, funcionarios y algunos vecinos del municipio cercano de Payogasta han estado abocados a tareas de promoción turística, entre las que se destaca la puesta en valor de su casco histórico. Nos proponemos analizar las construcciones de memoria en torno a la presencia del molino histórico ubicado allí y su relación con procesos locales orientados al turismo. Para eso, retomaremos registros orales de encuentros con los vecinos y entrevistas realizadas en el marco del trabajo con dicha estructura. Si bien estas iniciativas provienen de actores vinculados al turismo, difieren de aquellos procesos relacionados con la turistificación, desarrollados en lugares cercanos. En este contexto, las memorias colectivas dan cuenta de su importancia en la comunidad, y su activación patrimonial orientada al turismo es un elemento constitutivo de sus significaciones, entre otras que tienen que ver con su conservación y restauración. O turismo nos Vales Calchaquíes de Salta tem aumentado nos últimos anos, concentrando-se em localidades como Cachi e Cafayate. Neste contexto, desde 2015, funcionários e alguns moradores do município vizinho de Payogasta têm se dedicado a tarefas de promoção turística, entre as quais se destaca a valorização de seu centro histórico. Propomos analisar as construções de memória em torno da presença do moinho histórico e sua relação com os processos locais voltados para o turismo. Para isso, retomaremos registros orais de encontros com os moradores e entrevistas realizadas no âmbito do trabalho com essa estrutura. Embora essas iniciativas provenham de atores ligados ao turismo, elas diferem dos processos relacionados à turistificação em locais próximos. Nesse contexto, as memórias coletivas revelam sua importância na comunidade, e sua ativação patrimonial voltada para o turismo é um elemento constitutivo de seus significados, entre outros que têm a ver com sua conservação e restauração.
