It is usually assumed this development reflects a literary voyage from the world to the mind that coincides with the intensification of her depression and culminates with her suicide. By directing my attention to two philosophically inspired anthropological works that deal with madness, I explore the plausibility of the counter-hypothesis that what unfolds throughout her five plays is a voyage from the mind to the world.
