I present the current trends shown by theatre groups from different countries of Latin America by means of a selective survey of key examples. En este artículo reviso el comportamiento del teatro Latinoamericano que se sustrae de los modelos dominantes en el contexto de las utopías posmodernas y la economía de mercado. Propongo aplicar el término “teatro de grupo” para abarcar el fenómeno ligado al proyecto moderno. De manera panorámica, y seleccionando los ejemplos de acuerdo a los aspectos estudiados, presento las tendencias actuales en los grupos de teatro de distintos países de Latinoamérica.
