The Belgian-born and Spanish nationalized author has constructed this work based on the eponymus tragedy Euripides (431 a.C) and from the film Medea by Lars Von Trier (1988). Just as Maillard has decided, her elderly and returning protagonist tells us her story. She starts from the point where Euripides left off in the sequence of the filicide, in order to continue inquiring about the conflicts that belong to us as human beings, in a particularly acute and disturbing way, with a powerful and poignant voice that expresses the pain as a method of survival. Las apropiaciones de las que ha sido objeto el mito de Medea podrían resumirse en la continuidad y en las rupturas de los géneros literarios, como es el caso del poemario que nos ocupa en este trabajo, Medea de Chantal Maillard (2020). La autora belga, nacionalizada española, ha construido esta obra a partir de la tragedia epónima de Eurípides (431 a.C) y del film Medea de Lars Von Trier (1988). Tal como lo ha decidido Maillard, su protagonista ya anciana y de regreso, nos cuenta su historia. Comienza en el punto en que lo dejó Eurípides, en la secuencia del filicidio, para seguir indagando acerca de los conflictos que nos pertenecen como seres humanos, de modo particularmente agudo y perturbador, con una voz poderosa y conmovedora que expresa el dolor como una manera de supervivencia.
