Although the latter originated from reflection that is existential and architectonic in nature, its social projection in the urban environment acquires certain interest. As a corollary to these considerations, the suggestion of a possibly converging agenda between both theoretical bodies is offered. En este artículo se propone repasar, en primer lugar, un conjunto de ciertos mojones históricos en la Teoría Urbana, con el fin de disponerlos a un cotejo con un recíproco conjunto de contribuciones que acaso pudiera aportar una Teoría del Habitar. Si bien esta última se ha originado en una reflexión de naturaleza existencial y arquitectónica, su proyección social en el ámbito urbano adquiere un cierto interés. Como corolario de estas consideraciones, se ofrece la sugerencia de una posible agenda convergente entre ambos cuerpos teóricos. Neste artigo propõe-se rever, antes de mais, um conjunto de determinados marcos históricos da Teoria Urbana, de modo a compará-los com um conjunto recíproco de contribuições que uma Teoria do Habitar talvez pudesse fornecer. Embora esta última tenha origem numa reflexão de cariz existencial e arquitetônico, a sua projeção social no meio urbano adquire um certo interesse. Como corolário dessas considerações, é oferecida a sugestão de uma possível agenda convergente entre os dois corpos teóricos. Universidad Nacional del Nordeste.
