This work unveils the first recorded instance of R. microplus adults and nymphs infesting the A. axis in Argentina. El objetivo de esta publicación es dar a conocer nuevos registros de una asociación parásito- hospedador entre garrapatas (Acari: Ixodidae) y el ciervo Axis axis, en Argentina. Los muestreos fueron realizados en Mercedes, Corrientes, Argentina. Las garrapatas, colectadas sobre dos ejemplares machos de A. axis, fueron determinadas como dos partenoginas, doce metaninfas, una neogina y cuatro machos de Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus. El hallazgo presentado en este trabajo representa el primer registro de adultos y ninfas de R. microplus parasitando A. axis para Argentina.
