The main teaching communities have been identified in virtual social networks (Instagram and Facebook) of some countries in the Ibero-American region (Argentina, Spain, Mexico and Uruguay). Within a qualitative approach, a virtual or digital ethnographic analysis of the memes that circulated has been carried out. As a result, an ethnographic record has been composed, which integrates image and text, with the aim of delving into the symbolic construction of the figure of educators and their world, as they have experienced it during the pandemic. El presente artículo estudia las representaciones de los profesores y de su trabajo, el “oficio de enseñar”, durante la pandemia por covid-19, en los memes de internet. Se han identificado las principales comunidades docentes en redes sociales virtuales (Instagram y Facebook) de algunos países de la región iberoamericana (Argentina, España, México y Uruguay) y, desde un enfoque cualitativo, se ha realizado un análisis etnográfico virtual o digital de los memes que circularon. Como resultado, se ha compuesto un registro etnográfico que integra imagen y texto, con la finalidad de profundizar en la construcción simbólica de la figura de los educadores y de su mundo, tal como lo han vivido durante la pandemia.
