Sumario:This academic exercise presents an innovative proposal that contributes to the criminological dialogue on crime prevention,  consisting in the formulation of a conceptual and theoretical framework for the management of citizen security and the guarantee of the right to the city, based on the postulates of the theory of political emotions. It concludes that it is advisable to consider the relationship between political emotions and the emergence of social conflict in crime prevention processes in contemporary intermediate cities. For this purpose, documentary research methods are used, which consider the selection, organization and analysis of a set of pertinent propositions for its development.
