The salient features of stem .anatomy are: cork of subepidermic origin, phloem arranged in triangular strands and stratified with fiber groups, mucilage cavities, vessels with simple perforations frequently arranged in radial groups, axial parenchyma scanty, rays heterogeneous 1-3 seriate.
