This article aims to answer questions about the composition and scope of the training environments of technical and vocational institutions specializing in automotive education. The answers emerge from the results of the implementation of the SelfAssessment Device for Training Environments, designed based on the analysis of jurisdictional frameworks and curricular designs, interviews with key informants, and observations of Training Environments from different schools and production and commercial spaces linked to the automotive sector. This survey device was completed, in the form of a self-administered questionnaire, by members of the management teams of a sample of 15 schools with the automotive specialty. As for the results presented, they are part of an exploratory study regarding the composition and status of TE, and in this sense, they should be viewed as potential input for further research, hypothesis development, and starting points for making diagnoses and discussion. Los Entornos Formativos (EF) son centrales en los procesos de enseñanza aprendizaje de la educación técnica profesional (ETP), sobre todo para la realización de prácticas en las que se ponen en juego los saberes construidos a lo largo de la trayectoria académica. Este artículo busca describir la composición y alcance de los EF de las instituciones de educación técnico profesional de la especialidad Automotriz. Esta descripción surge de la lectura de los resultados de la implementación del Dispositivo de Autoevaluación de Entornos Formativos (DAEF) diseñado a partir del análisis de los marcos de referencia y diseños curriculares jurisdiccionales, de entrevistas con informantes clave, observaciones de EF de diferentes escuelas y de espacios productivos y comerciales ligados al sector automotriz. Este dispositivo de relevamiento fue respondido, en formato de encuesta auto administrada, por integrantes de los cuerpos directivos de una muestra de 15 escuelas con la especialidad automotriz de todo el país. En cuanto a los resultados que se presentan, son parte de una investigación exploratoria acerca de la composición y estado de EF y en ese sentido deben ser leídos, como potenciales insumos para la realización de nuevas investigaciones, construcción de hipótesis y puntos de partida para la confección de diagnósticos y discusiones.
