China and Argentina are in the antipodes. In the absolute space it means that, on planet Earth, one is diametrically opposite to the other, although in the relative space, measured over time, the position may be different. The dissemination of the COVID-19, discovered on December 30, 2019 showed that all current global processes have a great acceleration. Two months later the cases began to be detected in our country. From Wuhan (China) to Luján (Argentina) is an indicator of the spread of the disease that on March 11 was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO). The data for that day indicated that its spatial distribution occurred in 114 countries, with 118,000 infected and 4,291 deaths. In the present work, the spatial diffusion of COVID-19 will be analyzed from a spatio-temporal perspective, considering the scope of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Neogeography in monitoring its spatial evolution using the systematization of quantitative data that support the decision-making process. Theoretical aspects of Geography are discussed as an empirical science for the analysis of reality and the arrival of COVID-19 in Luján as the basis of a global process that severely affects the spatiality of social life |
