Dentro de los factores que promovieron la migración de miles de ciudadanos suizos hacia distintos destinos de ultramar, sin duda un papel privilegiado a la hora de decidir partir fue el crítico escenario económico y social de Suiza durante la primera mitad del siglo XX. Sin embargo, los contactos y relaciones personales de los inmigrantes fueron un recurso de suma importancia en los mecanismos de inserción desplegados en un escenario totalmente nuevo. El presente artículo analiza la formación de redes migratorias y redes sociales entre los inmigrantes suizos. Dentro de la complejidad que implica un abordaje de microanalítico, cabría preguntarse ¿cómo fue el proceso de gestación de las redes migratorias y redes sociales entre los suizos y cómo estas influyeron en la inserción del inmigrante en un espacio totalmente nuevo? ¿En qué medida las redes sociales fueron influyentes en el éxito o fracaso en la aprehensión de las tareas agrícolas a las que muchos no estaban acostumbrados? Finalmente, tomando en consideración que un grupo importante de migrantes se establecieron en colonias alemanas, cabría considerar si, en este contexto, ¿fueron estas redes necesariamente étnicas?. The critical economic and social situation in Switzerland during the first half of the 20th century was undoubtedly the most important factor that promoted the migration of thousands of Swiss citizens to different oversea destinations. However, the contacts and personal relationships of immigrants were a key point in the insertion mechanisms deployed in a totally new scenario. This article analyzes the formation of migratory and social networks among Swiss immigrants. Within the complexity implied by a micro-analytical approach, the following questions should be posed, how was the process of development of migratory and social networks among the Swiss?, how did they influence the insertion of the immigrant into a totally new space? , and to what extent did social networks influence the success or failure in apprehending the agricultural tasks that many of them were not used to?
