Finalmente, la cuarta evalúa el nivel relativo de la autonomía municipal en Chile respecto de otros países. This article is divided into four parts. The first advances in the contextualization of municipal decentralization in Latin America and Chile since the 1980s. The second part presents the Local Autonomy Index 2.0., developed to measure municipal autonomy in 57 countries (Ladner et al. 2021). The third presents the measurement of municipal autonomy in Chile between 1990 and 2020 using this indicator.
