This very problem led us to compile a list of verbs that are frequently used in this field, which eventually took form in print as an illustrated glossary of phrases. The glossary, conceived as a practical aid to translators, contains 183 entries. Each main entry lists the most frequent technical meanings of the term with at least one Spanish equivalent, accompanied by phrases in English or Spanish taken from a wide variety of scientific texts. Phrases in English are accompanied by their translations. For verbs with several related meanings, other possible uses are listed to give a complete semantic picture.
