Sumario: | Cedripites tectus sp. nov., from the Middle to Late Triassic Rincón Blanco Group of San Juan province, west of Argentina, is a haploxylonoid to slightly dyploxilonoid disaccate pollen grain with a longitudinally oval amb. The corpus is almost rhombic in polar view and trapezium-like in off-polar compression. The sacci show a strong distal inclination and merge gradually with the corpus, encompassing a narrow cappula about one tenth of the corpus breadth. A brief discussion on Cedrus-like fossil miospores validates the usage of Cedripites Wodehouse. |
